Manchester City Defeats Liverpool With A 5-4 Penalty Shoot

Manchester City  defeated Liverpool with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win after a 1-1 draw in Community Shield at Wembley. Raheem Sterling gave City a first half lead before Joel Matip grabbed a late equaliser for Liverpool in the annual curtain-raiser to the English top-flight season. On the evidence of this hard-fought contest, which featured both flashes of quality and signs of rustiness, there will little to separate the two teams as they go head-to-head for the major prizes once again over the next 10 months. Retaining the Community Shield trophy they won 12 months ago would improve City’s belief that they can repeat last season’s remarkable silverware haul, but Liverpool could take encouragement as well after they finished strongly enough to have won.

In the shoot-out, City keeper Claudio Bravo saved from Georginio Wijnaldum, with Gabriel Jesus driving in the winning kick after successful efforts from Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Oleksandr Zinchenko. The jubilant celebrations from City’s players and fans showed inflicting an early psychological blow on Liverpool was a moment to savour, regardless of the supposed warm-up status of the glamour friendly. With City installed as favourites to win the title for a third successive season and Liverpool expected to present the strongest challenge to Pep Guardiola’s side, their meeting on the eve of the season was a window into what to expect this term.

After pipping Liverpool to last season’s Premier League title with 98 points to their rivals’ 97, City went on to complete an unprecedented domestic treble by adding the FA Cup to the League Cup they won earlier in the campaign. But Jurgen Klopp’s men didn’t dwell on that painful near-miss as they won the Champions League just weeks later.

The only dark cloud for City was an injury to Leroy Sane, who limped off in the 10th minute holding his right leg after collapsing while chasing a long pass. Sane was playing on the day reports claimed his agents had agreed a contract with Bayern Munich, who are keen to sign the Germany winger. City’s victory was a well-time riposte for Guardiola, who this week hit back at Klopp’s claim that the champions live in a transfer “fantasy land”.

The 23-year-old’s composed passing and physical presence showed why City’s financial muscles have been flexed again. Sterling hadn’t scored in his last 10 appearances against Liverpool in all competitions, but the England winger ended that drought in the 12th minute. Kyle Walker’s high pass to the far post caught Liverpool appealing in vain for offside as Kevin De Bruyne headed on to David Silva.

Silva flicked towards Sterling and his close-range effort was just strong enough to escape the grasp of Reds keeper Alisson Becker and trickle over the line. Much improved after the interval, Liverpool were inches away from equalising when Virgil van Dijk’s half-volley crashed down off the crossbar onto the goalline before City scrambled clear. Salah was by far Liverpool’s most menacing player and he twisted away from the City defence before firing a fierce strike that cannoned off the outside of the post.

Guardiola had his head in his hands in frustration when Sterling again ran clear on goal without scoring as his hesitant stumble allowed Alisson to save at his feet.City paid for that miss when Liverpool deservedly equalised in the 77th minute, Van Dijk helping on Jordan Henderson’s free-kick before substitute Matip headed in from close-range. Walker’s incredible overhead-kick clearance then repelled what looked to be a late Salah winner, setting up City’s shoot-out triumph that stood as the opening salvo in what looks set to be a season

Nine Victims Were Deceased and 16 More Victims Hospitalized in Dayton

Ohio

According to the report, nine victims were deceased and consequently, approximately 16 more victims hospitalized right now in unknown conditions in a mass shooting early Sunday in Dayton, Ohio, police said, adding that the assailant was shot dead by responding officers.

The suspect had opened fire on the street firing “a long gun with multiple rounds.” Police were working to identify the shooter and the FBI were on scene to provide any necessary assistance, he said.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 am in the popular bar and nightlife Oregon district of the city, Police Lieutenant Colonel Matt Carper said. “We had one shooter that we are aware of and multiple victims,” he told reporters. “The shooter is deceased, from gunshot wounds from the responding officers,” he said, adding no police were injured.

Further more, Carper said Oregon was “a very safe part of downtown” Dayton and very popular with visitors. “Fortunately we had multiple officers in the immediate vicinity when this incident started so there was a very short timeline of violence, for that we’ve very fortunate.

Moreso, “It’s a very tragic incident and we’re doing everything we can to investigate it and try to identify the motivation behind this,” said Carper.“We’re still interviewing obviously a lot of witnesses as well as officers to determine if anyone else was involved,” he said.

18 Reported Dead And Many Injured In Texas Walmart Shooting

As many as 18 people were killed and dozens more were injured, and one male suspect is in custody, after a mass shooting at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart on Saturday morning, officials said. The wounded ranged in age from a 2-year-old child to an 82-year-old victim.

A 21-year-old man was taken into custody after police responded within six minutes to a report of an active shooter at the Cielo Vista Mall. The suspect, who was captured on surveillance video entering the Walmart, has been identified as 21-year-old Patrick Crusius.

The document was shared on 4Chan, an online forum where users can post anonymously. Within it, the suspect denounces Hispanic people in Texas, cites concerns about losing American jobs to automation and criticizes both political parties. The text includes a reference to the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, which left 51 people dead.

According to Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, three of those killed were Mexican citizens. Mexican Consul General Mauricio Ibarra, who is based in El Paso, told Mexican authorities that six of those injured were Mexican citizens.

El Paso Police Department Sgt. Robert Gomez said that "we have ruled out multiple shooters," adding, "We have no information ... about what the motive is."

The shooting began in the parking lot outside the Walmart, an eyewitness said. Police Chief Greg Allen referenced a document allegedly left behind by the suspect. He said the shooting may have a "nexus" to a hate crime but declined to elaborate. He said police are considering capital murder charges.

Sergeant Robert Gomez, a police spokesman, said he thinks most of the victims were shot at the Walmart in the shopping complex. He said the store was packed with as many as 3,000 people during the busy back-to-school shopping season.

Earlier, El Paso police tweeted they had received reports of "multiple shooters" but they later said they did not believe there was more than one gunman. Police also said reports of a shooting at another location were "false."

The suspect was considered "a troubled youth" and described as a loner. Authorities are treating a document allegedly written by the gunman as evidence.

Be Not Afraid -Alfred J. Hough

1.Come weal, come woe where'er we go,
God is not far away;
He holds the stormy winds that blow,
And molds the golden day.
The darkest night to Him is light,
And thro' the shine or shade,
He speaks in tones of tender might,
My child, be not afraid.

2.Child, be not, be not afraid;
Child, be not, be not afraid
The darkest night to Him is light,
And thro' the shine or shade,
Child, be not, be not afraid;
Child, be not, be not afraid
He speaks in tones of tender might,
My child, be not afraid.

3.Tho' clouds may veil the stars that sail
O'er boundless seas of space,
And lights along all shores may fail,
God will not hide His face;
But sweetly whispers while His hands
Upon His own are laid,
Lo! at thy side thy Father stands,
My child, be not afraid.'

4.Thro' changing years, in joy and tears,
The changeless One abides,
And safe the soul from doubt and fears
That in His bosom hides.
On noisy street, in still retreat,
Thro' vales of deepest shade,
That voice is heard with accents sweet,
My child, be not afraid.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Announces The Abduction Five RCCG Pastors

The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, announced the abduction five RCCG pastors on Friday at the Redeemed Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Adeboye, while charging the congregation to pray for the release of the abductees, said the abduction took place on Thursday along the Ijebu-Ode axis.

He was quoted as saying, “As a father, how do you think I should feel to hear that five of my children have been kidnapped while on their way to attend the Ministers Conference?”

Consequently, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has reacted to the abduction of five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who were on their way to attend the church’s Ministers’ Conference in Lagos on Thursday.

He also condemned the murder of Catholic Parish Priest of St. James, the Greater Parish, Ugbawka, in Enugu State, Rev FR Paul Offu.

Also, the Catholic Parish Priest of St. James, the Greater Parish, Ugbawka, in Enugu State, Rev FR Paul Offu was reportedly shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Thursday evening.

Reacting, Apostle Suleiman expresses sadness and disbelief over the recent development.

The outspoken cleric called on God to ‘frustrate the agenda of the wicked men in Nigeria’ over recent abduction. On his verified Twitter page, Apostle Suleman wrote: “Just got into the country and hearing strange news of 5 RCCG pastors kidnapped, Catholic priest killed, soldiers buried secretly?

“Are these true? I don’t want to believe it. “Father in the name of Jesus, we ask you release all those in hands of captors after the order of Acts 12.frustrate the agenda of wicked men in Nigeria. (Isaiah 7v7,isaiah 8v10,psalms 68v1). “Let ceaseless flow of blood come to an end in Jesus name.

How To Get More Traffic To Your Blog

Getting more traffic to blog is very technical and one needs to exercise patience. The problem that most people face isn't about how they can setup a website or even start a blog; it's about how they can actually drive traffic to that digital destination floating about in the bits and bytes of cyberspace. Here are ten ways to get more traffic to your website;
How to More Traffic to Your Blog

1.Write Good Content: Content is king. As long as you create insatiable content on your site or blog, you'll keep the visitors coming back for more and more. Also, the better your content is, the more engaged your visitors will be. They will share your content for you, helping to promote your site on autopilot.

2.Comprehend The Sources Of Your Website Traffic: There are effectively two ways that you can drive traffic to a website. The first way is free. It involves things like search engine optimization, setting up a blog, social media marketing and so on and so forth. The other way is paid. Everyone knows that paid ads can drive traffic to a website, but it can also get costly.

If you don't understand things like conversion rates and tracking of clicks to see how much a sale costs you, then you'll surely fail with paid traffic. Either way you slice it, there are some great ways to drive traffic to your website that fall into both of these categories.

The more organized you are, and the better you've presented your offer at the outset, the more likely you'll be to succeed with any one of these traffic methods or strategies. So, how do you track all of your efforts to ensure that you're doing the best to understand where your visitors are coming from when it comes driving traffic to your website?

3.Implement Good Search Engine Optimization (SEO): If you don't understand SEO, you're doing yourself a disservice. Discover the nuances about SEO so that you're engaging in the right type of traffic delivery strategies. You don't want to bend or break the rules. Plus, by really having an understanding of SEO, you could quite literally supercharge your results. Find a good course or audiobook about SEO and learn like the wind.

4.Update "Expired" Content On Your Website: Historical refreshes of content is a good thing, especially if some of your content has expired. Note, this does not mean re-doing your content; simply refreshing it to bring it current if it isn't already evergreen content. Look at ways you can update outdated content on your site to drive more traffic through visibility on search engines like Google.

5.Focus On Mobile Usability: You need to ensure that your site is mobile-friendly. Use Google's Page Insights Tool to check the friendliness of your mobile layout and see if it conforms to guidelines. You should also make sure that all your posts and content are AMP-specification ready.

6.Try Instagram: Everyone knows that Instagram is a wildly-popular platform for sharing photos and connecting with others from around the world. Yet, few people know how to leverage Instagram to drive traffic to their website. However, many people have built multi-million dollar businesses solely by using Instagram as their main method for driving traffic.

7. Purchase Ads Through Facebook: Clearly, you can advertise on a platform like Facebook. As long as your offer is enticing enough, and you can convert that traffic into sales with a great sales page or free offer, then you can scale this marketing initiative out infinitely to drive nearly unlimited sales.

8.Leverage LinkedIn's Publishing Platform: Publish a unique, high-quality post on LinkedIn that delivers an enormous amount of value and ensure that you link that content to anchor content on your blog or website to gain that all-important authority bridge to your primary post.

9.Utilize Email Marketing:  Email marketing is a great way to drive traffic to your site or your blog, and to promote any offers, but it also means that you need a list to market to. Create a lead magnet and build a sales funnel immediately if you haven't already done so, in order to build up a list that you can eventually market (not spam) any of your offers to.

10.Create And Share High-Quality Infographics: Building high-quality infographics is simply one form of clickbait. There are loads of clickbait examples that you can utilize, but not all of them are created equal. However, if you can build a great infographic that many people will link to, you can essentially create an automated marketing machine for your site. Ensure you hire a great designer to do this.

Trump Clears the Air on Kashmir Issue

News

Donald Trump, while answering a question from a reporter at the White House about his earlier offer to mediate on Kashmir issue, said: “If they wanted somebody to intervene and I spoke to Pakistan about that… I spoke frankly with India about it… if they wanted me to I would certainly intervene”. India on Friday once again underlined the bilateral nature of Kashmir issue with Pakistan and told the US in “clear terms” that any discussion on the subject will happen only with Islamabad. New Delhi’s comment comes just hours after US president Donald Trump once again stressed that he would “certainly intervene” if “they” asked. It was, however, not clear if “they” was used for India or Pakistan, or both.

Trump first made the offer, with the claim about Modi, on June 22 in response to a public appeal from the visiting Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan in joint remarks at the White House.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is in Bangkok attending the ASEAN summit, tweeted that he had conveyed New Delhi’s intent to his US counterpart Mike Pompeo.“Have conveyed to American counterpart @SecPompeo this morning in clear terms that any discussion on Kashmir, if at all warranted, will only be with Pakistan and only bilaterally,” Jaishankar wrote.

With that, both sides decided to move on. A senior state department official took pretty much the same line at briefing for reporters Wednesday on Khan’s recent visit. “The US ability to encourage a constructive dialogue between India and Pakistan whether on Kashmir or other bilateral issues will be a function of Pakistan taking sustained and irreversible steps against militants and terrorists on its territory,” the official said. But it seems President Trump did not get an update on his offer, and was still waiting for response. When asked by a reporter Thursday, Trump replied with question: “Have they accepted the offer or not?” When told they had not, he said, “Well it’s really up to Prime Minister Modi.”

India denied Modi had ever asked Trump to mediate and reiterated known Indian position that all issues with Pakistan can only be resolved bilaterally and after Pakistan stops supporting terrorism. The state department followed up, and reiterated old US position, and one very different from Trump, that India and Pakistan should resolve their differences bilaterally and that the United States stands ready to assist.

US Security Officers Confiscated A Missile Launcher At A Washington-area

The launcher was found “early this morning” at Baltimore/Washington International airport, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein tweeted. The US transport security officers confiscated a missile launcher from a checked bag at a Washington-area airport on Monday, with a Texas man saying it was a souvenir from Kuwait.

The “man said he was bringing it back from Kuwait as a souvenir. Perhaps he should have picked up a keychain instead!” she wrote. The TSA issued a statement on the incident, saying that “the man, a resident of Jacksonville, Texas, told officials that he was an active military personnel.”

“Fortunately the item was not a live device. It was confiscated and handed over to the state fire marshal for safe disposal. The man was permitted to catch his flight,” TSA said.

The statement included images of what appears to be the launch tube for a Griffin missile, which manufacturer Raytheon says is a “precise, low-collateral-damage weapon for irregular warfare operations.”

It “has a proven track record for successful rapid integration on land, sea and air platforms,” according to Raytheon. But the TSA said that the missile’s launcher cannot, however, be integrated into luggage: “Military weapons are not permitted in checked or carry-on bags.”

Delay is Not Denial

When we are passing through difficult situations and have prayed and fasted and it still seems as if God has forgotten us, it is easy to feel abandoned and depressed. However, we should know that delay does not mean denial. Just because we have forgotten. God is working out a plan that will not only produce the best result for you but will also display his glory for all to see so that  there will be no no doubt that only He could have done it.

Let consider the story of Lazarus according to John 11:1-44; (AMP) 1:Now a certain man named Lazarus was ill. He was of Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived. 2:This Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped His feet with her hair. It was her brother Lazarus who was [now] sick. 3:So the sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, he whom You love [so well] is sick. 4:When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death; but [on the contrary] it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it.5 :Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. [They were His dear friends, and He held them in loving esteem.] 6:Therefore [even] when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He still stayed two days longer in the same place where He was.7 :Then after that interval He said to His disciples, Let us go back again to Judea.8:The disciples said to Him, Rabbi, the Jews only recently were intending and trying to stone You, and are You [thinking of] going back there again?9:Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? Anyone who walks about in the daytime does not stumble, because he sees [by] the light of this world. 10:But if anyone walks about in the night, he does stumble, because there is no light in him [the light is lacking to him].11:He said these things, and then added, Our friend Lazarus is at rest and sleeping; but I am going there that I may awaken him out of his sleep.12:The disciples answered, Lord, if he is sleeping, he will recover.13:However, Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He referred to falling into a refreshing and natural sleep.14 :So then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus is dead,15:And for your sake I am glad that I was not there; it will help you to believe (to trust and rely on Me). However, let us go to him.16 :Then Thomas, who was called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, Let us go too, that we may die [be killed] along with Him.17:So when Jesus arrived, He found that he [Lazarus] had already been in the tomb four days. 18 :Bethany was near Jerusalem, only about two miles away, 19:And a considerable number of the Jews had gone out to see Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.20:When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him, while Mary remained sitting in the house.21:Martha then said to Jesus, Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22:And even now I know that whatever You ask from God, He will grant it to You.

23:Jesus said to her, Your brother shall rise again.24:Martha replied, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.25:Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live; 26:And whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this?27:She said to Him, Yes, Lord, I have believed [I do believe] that You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), the Son of God, [even He] Who was to come into the world. [It is for Your coming that the world has waited.] 28:After she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary, privately whispering to her, The Teacher is close at hand and is asking for you.29:When she heard this, she sprang up quickly and went to Him.30:Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the same spot where Martha had met Him.31:When the Jews who were sitting with her in the house and consoling her saw how hastily Mary had arisen and gone out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to pour out her grief there.32:When Mary came to the place where Jesus was and saw Him, she dropped down at His feet, saying to Him, Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.33:When Jesus saw her sobbing, and the Jews who came with her [also] sobbing, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. [He chafed in spirit and sighed and was disturbed.] 34:And He said, Where have you laid him? They said to Him, Lord, come and see. 35:Jesus wept.36:The Jews said, See how [tenderly] He loved him!37:But some of them said, Could not He Who opened a blind man’s eyes have prevented this man from dying? 38:Now Jesus, again sighing repeatedly and deeply disquieted, approached the tomb. It was a cave (a hole in the rock), and a boulder lay against [the entrance to close] it.39:Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, exclaimed, But Lord, by this time he [is decaying and] throws off an offensive odor, for he has been dead four days! 40:Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?41:So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.42:Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me [that You have made Me Your Messenger].43:When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out! 44:And out walked the man who had been dead, his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, Free him of the burial wrappings and let him go.

Lazarus, the friend of Jesus, who was sick, and his sisters had sent word to the Lord to come and heal him. They were in no doubt that Jesus would be heal him. They were in no doubt that Jesus would be able to heal him. They had seen him heal the sick and many more miracles in the past. But after Jesus received the message, the bible reports to us that He stayed back for two more days. He didn't rush so that God's glory be further displayed in a greater way than ever before.  His delay was part of the greater plan to prove the greatness of God over every situation. If Jesus had arrived before Lazarus died, his healing would not have been so miraculous like him being raised from the dead after four days.

Are you passing through a situation whereby it seems that you have been forgotten? Do not despair! God has not forgotten you neither is His “silence” a denial of your request. Be rest assured that is working out a better plan for you. A plan that will leave all that hear it glorifying the name of the Lord. It will be clear that it is only God that could have done it and you will forget the time of your trial and give glory to God. Hold on to His promise. At the appointed time you shall rejoice. Remember ; delay is not denial.

Governor Emeka Ihedioha Tells Rochas Okorocha To Apologise To The People Over The Sins He Committed

National news

Governor Emeka Ihedioha has told the immediate past governor of the state , Rochas Okorocha, to apologise to the people over the sins he committed against the state. A statement issued in Owerri on Sunday by Iheanyi Enwerm , on behalf of the committee said that Okorocha should be in a sober mood owing to the number of government assets recovered from his family members and political allies. The statement said that vehicles, soundproof power generators, chairs, doors , roofing sheets, rugs, kitchen utensils , had allegedly been recovered from members of Okorocha’ s family and political allies. The statement said that looted government assets were discovered at a warehouse in Owerri which allegedly belonged to Okorocha ’s wife.

The statement read in part, “ Ordinarily , we would have chosen the part of silence since an adage goes that silence can be golden and more so when Imolites have seen with their own eyes how Okorocha looted the treasury and properties of Imo State government which is being recovered by Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku led Committee on Recovery of Government Property . “ It is on record that the Jasper Ndubuaku led recovery team made a publication in various media platforms , where he called for the assistance of patriotic Imolites to help the committee locate government properties, known to have been looted by Rochas Okorocha and his family members were being kept , and this is gradually yielding positive results .

“ It is instructive to note that the committee has recovered, vehicles, soundproof generating sets, chairs, doors, roofing sheets , doors , rugs, kitchen utensils , among other things. This, I believe should have sobered the ex- Governor and his family members. ” “ Imolites are not surprised that looted government properties were discovered at a warehouse known to belong to Nkechi OKOROCHA , wife of the ex -governor. The biggest assistance we have received has come from the people.

The statement urged Okorocha to humble himself and apologize to the people of the state for allegedly aiding the stealing of movable properties belonging to the state government. “ Instead, Chief Okorocha and his family members should apologise to Imolites for the primitive manner they plundered the state ’s resources for 8 years, not done with the looting , they , having lost their ill - conceived gubernatorial election , resorted to carting away properties belonging to government. ”

One Of The Presidential Candidates Of The US Democratic Party Sues Google

Tulsi Gabbard, one of the presidential candidates of the US Democratic Party, has sued Google for at least $50 million accusing the company of meddling with her campaign. Gabbard’s alleges that the search engine suspended her campaign’s advertising account for six hours following the first Democratic debate, EnGadget reported on Thursday. “In the hours following the 1st debate, while millions of Americans searched for info about Tulsi, Google suspended her search ad account w/o explanation. It is vital to our democracy that big tech companies can’t affect the outcome of elections,” a tweet from Gabbard’s official account read.

Google’s discrimination against our campaign reveals the danger of their dominance and how the dominance of big tech over public discourse threatens core American values,” another one of the presidential candidate’s tweet read. However, according to Google a spokesperson, its automated systems flag unusual activity from advertisers, like a sudden increase in spending.

Tulsi Gabbard’s campaign team also believes that its emails were being placed in Gmail spam folders at “a disproportionately high rate” compared to other Democratic contenders. Gabbard’s campaign team also believes that its emails were being placed in Gmail spam folders at “a disproportionately high rate” compared to other Democratic contenders.

The company says that in this case its system triggered a suspension that was pulled back in a short while. For now, Gabbard has filed a lawsuit against Google, details about which still remain unclear. According to the lawsuit, she sides with Senator Elizabeth Warren in the call for large tech companies to be broken up. While this lawsuit may not go anywhere, it is believed to be the first time a presidential candidate has sued a major tech firm, the report said. Gabbard is a military veteran serving as the US Representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district since 2013. She is also the first Hindu member of the United States’ Congress.

The Current Information on WhatsApp Pay

WhatsApp icon

WhatsApp Pay , stuck owing to India’s demand to store data locally, has not gone beyond the beta testing it did with nearly one million users last year. “In Instagram and Facebook, you have shopping, and you have Marketplace and you have all the tens of millions of small businesses that use pages and a lot that use Instagram for sharing their inventory and being able to help people discover and pay. “When you’re using a messaging service, that everything there is very intimate and private so it feels like a more natural space to be interacting with a business in a private way for doing transactions,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook said.

Facebook is upbeat on the growth of digital payments in India and is actively working on launching WhatsApp Pay soon , Zuckerberg has said. In an earnings call with analysts late Wednesday, Zuckerberg said the company is building out Payments for the global market. “We have a test that is running in India for WhatsApp now, we’re hoping to launch in several other countries at some point, but I don’t want to put a timeframe on that here, but it’s something that we’re actively working on,” he said.

Facebook’s daily active users (DAUs) reached 1.56 billion, up 8% compared to last year, led by growth in India, Indonesia and the Philippines. This represents approximately 66% of the 2.38 billion monthly active users in March. According to Zuckerberg, privacy is the biggest area for the future of social networking.“Today, people increasingly want the intimacy of connecting privately as well. So, I think there also needs to be a digital equivalent of the living room -- a platform just as built out with all of the ways you’d want to interact privately,” said the Facebook CEO.

He said the digital town squares like Facebook and Instagram will always be important and will only continue to grow in importance. “Over time, I believe there’s an even bigger opportunity with the digital living room to build a platform focused on privacy. We all need to communicate privately, and this service could be even more important in our lives.

So, I think we should focus our efforts on building this privacy-focused platform,” he noted. The privacy-focused platform will be built around private interactions. “You should have simple, intimate spaces where you have complete confidence that what you say and do is private. Encryption. Your private communications should be secure, and end-to-end encryption prevents anyone - including even us - from seeing what you share,” Zuckerberg added. “You shouldn’t have to worry about what you share coming back to hurt you later, so we won’t keep around messages or Stories for longer than necessary,” he noted. Facebook said it won’t store sensitive data in countries where it might be improperly accessed because of the weak rule of law or governments that can forcibly get access to users’ data.

BEWARE OF EXCESSIVE PROFITEERING

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Today, the Spirit of the Lord is warning us to beware of excessive profiteering in business. This is something people do in order to enrich themselves with worldly materials and possessions procured through huge profits. God says it is an act of wickedness when we unduly profit from essential goods and services. You may not know the pain you are inflicting by doing unless God opens your eyes to see that some who need the goods or services for survival are suffering because they cannot afford to pay what you are charging them. People who do this either do not know or have forgotten the words of wisdom in Proverbs 13:11, which says:

“Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.”

It is even worse when some rich employers of labor deny their workers their due wages, all in a bid to live large on what does not belong to them. It is equivalent to slavery when people work for you and you either don’t pay them or you tactically delay their payday. If you are involved in this, the Holy Spirit says to you in James 5:3-4:

“Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.”

A close look at the misfortune of those practicing such wickedness will make any wise person to heed God’s warning in this scripture. Those who loot the public treasury in order to leave something behind for their children have proved themselves foolish in this regard. Even in their lifetime, their children begin to mismanage their ill-gotten properties. We have heard stories of laborer’s children buying the properties of their fathers’ masters after the Lord of Sabaoth caused wealth to change hands. Only the riches gotten through just means can stand the test of time. No wonder Proverbs 22:22-23 says:

“Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.”

Beloved, remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and be wise: He warned us that the value of a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of the things he has (Luke 12:15). May the Lord grant you the great gain that comes from godly commitment in Jesus’ Name.

READ:    Proverbs 11:1-4
1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

MEMORISE:
He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. Proverbs 28:8

LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU.
1.While passing thro' this world of sin,
and others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Refrain:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you.
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true;
Let others see Jesus in you.

2. Your life's a book before their eyes,
They're reading it thro' and thro'
Say, does it point them to the skis,
Do others see Jesus in you?

3. Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave and true,
and lead the lost to life and Christ.
Let others see Jesus in you.
