I MYSELF WILL AWAKE EARLY

1.Thy daily stage of duty run;
Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise
To pay thy morning sacrifice

2. Thy precious time mis-spent
redeem;
Each present day thy last esteem;
Improve thy talent with due care;
For the great day thyself prepare.

3. Let all thy converse be sincere,
Thy conscience as the noontide
clear;
Think how all seeing God thy ways
And all thy secret thoughts surveys

4. By influence of the light Divine
Let thy own light to others shine;
Reflect all Heav'n's propitious rays
In ardent love and cheerful
praise.

5. Wake and lift up thyself, my heart,
And with the angles bear thy part,
Who all night long unwearied sing
High praise to the eternal King.

6. I wake, I wake, ye heav'nly choir
May your devotion me inspire,
That I, like you, my age may spend
Like you may on my God attend.
Amen.

AND MY SPIRIT HATH REJOICETH IN GOD MY SAVIOUR

1.Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
My dear Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!

2. Jesus the name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
‘Tis music in the sinner's ears;
‘Tis life, and health, and peace.

3. He breaks the pow'r of cancell'd sin,
And sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean;
His blood avail'd for me.

4. He speaks and, listening to His voice,
New life the dead receive;
The mournful broken hearts rejoice,
The humble poor believe.

5. Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosen'd tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Saviour come,
And leap, ye lame, for joy!

6. My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim
And spread through all the earth
abroad
The honours of Thy name.
Amen.
