FOLLOWING THE WILL OF GOD

Topic : FOLLOWING THE WILL OF GOD

The glory of man will fade but the glory of God is forever. We have never seen God in all His glory. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of host. Were born in sin. There had to be a solution to take care of that. Jesus is that solution. Psalms 51:5; "Behold I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me."We were born in sin. Jesus took our sins away and gave us righteousness. The only way to the Father is through Jesus. You cannot bypass Jesus to get to the Father. Jesus didn't drop the charges of our sins, but He took the penalty and paid the price for our sins. He suffered in our place. He delivered us from the bondage of sin. Bondage limited your decision making power. You sin by default because of the fleshly nature. Those who are not in Christ are slaves to sin. Jesus sets you free from that bondage.

1 John 2:15-17;
15. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

When you come to Jesus, your affection for the world is gone. You must have affection for God to have righteousness. You have two wills: 1) the will of man 2) the will of God. The will of man is fleshly and of the world. The will of God is of the Spirit and the Heavenly Kingdom. In Romans 8:1-14, of which I will write some of the scriptures, we see the flesh is not subject The Spirit does the will of God. There is no condemnation to those in Christ.

Romans 8:1-14;
1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.
2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

We don't have an obligation to the flesh. We are indebted to the Spirit. The flesh is not subject to the law of God. You may be tempted but you have a way to escape the temptation by the Spirit. In this world, it is important to walk in the Spirit. There is much division everywhere. There is anger, bitterness and all works of the flesh.(Galatians 5:19-21). Our world has become more accepting of what the Bible condemns. Good becomes evil and evil becomes good. You must put the deeds of the flesh to death. The Spirit of God leads us away from the ways of the world. God is a God of order. The ways of the world, especially concerning intimate sin, is very perverted today. God instituted the system of marriage in the Garden Of Eden with Adam and Eve. Even though you are forgiven of your sins, the consequences remain. When you walk in the Spirit, you bring life to your marriage and all aspects of your life. You were bought with a price and your body is not your own. It belongs to God. Walking in the Spirit means, you put the interest of God above everything else in your life. Your mind should always be on the things of the Spirit. Your body will follow your mind. Our will doesn't matter. It is God's will that matters. God's Word will always stand.
