Text: JEREMIAH 30:1-3

Jer 30:1  The Word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
Jer 30:2  So speaks Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write all the Words that I have spoken to you in a book.
Jer 30:3  For, lo, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will bring again the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, says Jehovah. And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave their fathers, and they shall possess it.

“So speaks Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write all the Words that I have spoken to you in a book.” V.2

Sometimes I wonder that; what if the bible wasn't written, what will be the fate of Christians today? Despite the challenges and inconveniences in writing during the biblical days, the writers of the books of bible took pains to document their experiences and today, the bible has become the most important and most read document for the human race.

In the same vein, even as an individual, it is important to take notes of spiritual messages. The contents of the bible are life experiences and spiritual messages given to them at that time. Daniel was privy to read what was prophesied through Jeremiah and with that he was able to channel his prayers rightly (Daniel 9:2).

In this part of the world, we are too lazy to write, let alone read and thats one reason many work at cross purposes. Ask someone to pray for the country and he doesn't even know God's plan. The history of Israel forms a major part of the Bible, where is the history of our country? Do we know the history of churches in the country? If many knew the purpose for which missionaries came to the country, we will realize that the church is a total departure today.

Learn to write things down for the sake of posterity. You never know who would find the document very useful in future.

Prayer Point:

Almighty Father, help us to develop the habit of leaving a good legacy for the future generation that your purpose and plan for them can be fulfilled in Jesus name. Amen.

Food For Thought:

And Jehovah answered me and said, Write the vision, and make it plain on the tablets, that he who reads it may run.” Habakkuk 2:1
