Text: DANIEL 1:8-9

Dan 1:8  But Daniel laid on his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food, nor with the wine which he drank. So he asked permission of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Dan 1:9  And God had given Daniel kindness and compassion before the chief of the eunuchs.

GOLDEN VERSE
“But Daniel laid on his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food, nor with the wine which he drank. So he asked permission of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” V.8

MESSAGE

Indeed, unrighteousness has dominated the world and it has always been so. Many have been carried away by the affairs of the world but as an individual, you can still choose to be distinct.

Daniel was a man whose nation was invaded by the Babylonians and they were taken as slaves. Fortunately for him, he was selected among those that worked in the palace and they were to be fed with the kings delicacy which is against their godly custom. Daniel and his friends politely refused the kings delicacy and rather chose to take pulse because they did not want to defile themselves.

Do you only celebrate God when things are going fine but when challenges come you deny Him? You assume it is not possible to still be righteous in these times. How much more wrong can you be? This in fact is the best time to remain righteous so that you can share the message of the gospel with your way of life. At the end, you will promote the name of God like Daniel and his friends did. It is about you willing, because where there is a will, there is always a way.

*Prayer Point:*

Righteous Father, give me the strength and willpower to remain righteous that I can proclaim your name to the whole world in Jesus name. Amen.

Food For Thought:

“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.” Hebrews 3:14
