Read: Proverbs 5:12-15

MEMORISE: Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. (Proverbs 12:1)

Someone said, "if education is too costly, try ignorance" . What you have just read in the text is a lamentation. Anyone who despises education/correction/training cannot but live permanently with the consequences of his foolishness.

Education has been one of the most misconstrued things. Many believe that education is only limited to the four walls of the classroom. Education goes beyond the syllabus of the education department. It can be home, school/academic, or spiritual/religious. It is a light that illuminates the heart of anyone who falls in love with it. It is the process of learning and unlearning. It reveals the true way for man to walk in. Education prepares for life challenges.

Foolish people do not value education. They are wise in their own eyes. Education would make you teachable and bring the best out of you. It prepares one for opportunities, and removes all rough edges.

According to the passage, to be educated is to be disciplined, to take instruction and take to correction. Despising these virtues would spell doom for anyone.

The secret is, before you can register success in anything, education about such thing is very essential. Just as you can't open any closed door without a key, so you can't unlock the door of success without the right education. Jesus implores everyone to learn of Him because He knows that without enlightenment, man can't make it back to God (Matthew 11:28-30, 22:29). Don't joke with the education of your children as well (Genesis 18:18, Ephesians 6:4). May God help all the stakeholders involved, parents/guardians, the church, schools and government inclusive, to ensure proper education of their children, our future. Amen.

*1.* Lord, give me a teachable heart and humble spirit to take to every godly and positive instruction.
*2.* Help our society, oh Lord, to give more value to education and to see it in the light of Your word.
*3.* Oh Lord, deliver Your Church from the danger of ignorance and folly, and let Your Spirit continue to enlighten us.
