Read: Psalms 1:1-6

MEMORISE:_Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night._ *(Psalms 1:1,2)*

A tree that is planted by the rivers of water, is rooted, stable, well nourished, mature, growing, fruitful not just for the short term but throughout its life span. It is a tree that yields its fruits in its season, and a tree whose leaves do not wither. It is a tree that never loses touch with the source of its strength/supply. It has a constant supply of water, a source of nourishment. It is not easily moved from its foundation. It is capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation. It is able to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens.

Our memory scripture above describes the man that is like a tree planted by streams of water *(Psalms 1:3)*. Jeremiah describes him as the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit *(Jeremiah 17: 7-8)*.

When you are firmly planted in Christ, and in His Word, you don't have to be afraid of rejecting the counsel of the ungodly. You are not going to be shaken easily by what others think about you. You are planted in the Word of God. You are going to be stable, secure, and solid in the Word of God. Those who are planted in the Rock of Ages cannot be moved. Can the Rock of Ages be moved? Make the Word the foundation of your life and you are saved and secured *(Matthew 7:24-28)*. Remain in Him today and always, and become immovable.

1. I am a tree by the streams of the Lord. I shall not be moved, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, give me the inner courage to overcome the fears the devil brings my way.
3. Pray for brethren living in the fear of the unknown in the persecution-prone areas that God would be their stay and succour.
