TOPIC: CORRUPTED GRACE

TEXT : JUDE 1:3-5
Jud 1:3  Having made all haste to write to you about the common salvation, beloved, I had need to write to you to exhort you to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints.
Jud 1:4  For certain men crept in secretly, those having been of old previously written into this condemnation, ungodly ones perverting the grace of our God for unbridled lust, and denying the only Master, God, even our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jud 1:5  But I intend to remind you, you once knowing these things, that the Lord having delivered a people out of the land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed the ones not believing.

GOLDEN VERSE
“For certain men crept in secretly, those having been of old previously written into this condemnation, ungodly ones perverting the grace of our God for unbridled lust, and denying the only Master, God, even our Lord Jesus Christ.” V.4

MESSAGE
This is one of the biggest challenges facing Christendom today, i.e. the manner in which people have corrupted Gods grace. Be it known to you that grace is not the liberty to be carefree and sinful. Grace is expressed in the statement of Jesus to the adulterous woman in John 8:11 that; “Neither do I give judgment. Go, and sin no more.”

There is so much emphasis on the fact that Jesus did not condemn the woman but many forget that He also commanded her not to sin anymore. We cannot continue in sin and expect grace to abound. God forbid; says the scripture.
God has called us to liberty.

However, this is not a liberty to live as we please but as the Spirit of God directs. It is only when the Spirit leads us that we can be in true liberty. God does not want us to be enslaved by sin anymore but if we hide under grace to remain as such, the whole purpose of our being Christians becomes defeated. I pray we shall not receive Gods grace in vain in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer Point:
Gracious Father, help me to utilize the grace given to me judiciously that I may not remain a slave of sin in Jesus name. Amen.

Food For Thought:
“For, brothers, you were called to liberty. Only do not use the liberty for an opening to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13
